DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:
Iowa
101 begins at a junction with US 218 at the south edge of the City of Vinton
and proceeds northerly, easterly and northerly via the City of Vinton to a
junction with Iowa 150 approximately four (4) miles north of the City of
Urbana.
Interstate
380 was opened to traffic to an interchange with Iowa 101 north of Urbana on
August 14, 1984. In conjunction with this opening Iowa 101 should be
re-designated as Iowa 150. The official description of Iowa 101 should be
removed from the Primary Road System to reflect this re-designation.
PROPOSAL/ACTION
RECOMMENDATION:
It
is recommended to approve deleting the present description of Iowa 101 in
Benton County from the Primary Road System.
