Beginning on the Audubon‑Shelby County line (north corporation line of Elkhorn) connecting with Main Street at a point approximately 200 feet west of the S ¼ Corner of Section 32‑T79N‑R36W, Audubon County (1,100 feet west of the NE Corner of Section 2‑T78N‑R37W, Shelby County; thence west along the Audubon‑Shelby County line to a point approximately 1,200 feet east of the SW Corner of Section 17‑T79N‑R36W, Audubon County (300 feet east of the N ¼ Corner of Section 2‑T78N‑R37W, Shelby County); thence curving in a northwesterly direction to a point approximately 1,200 feet north of the SW Corner of Section 32-T79N‑R36W: then north following substantially the section line Section 32‑T79N‑R36W to the south corporation line of Kimballton connecting with Main Street.

Kimballton:

Beginning on the south corporation line connecting with Main Street; thence north on Main Street to an unnamed street (junction Iowa 44).

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records Iowa 173 in Audubon County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Locate Iowa 173 and its extension in Audubon County as follows:

Beginning on the Audubon‑Shelby County line (north corporation line of the City of Elkhorn) connecting with an unnamed street at a point approximately 200 feet west of the S ¼ Corner of Section 32‑T79N‑R36W, Audubon County (1100 feet west of the NE Corner of Section 2‑T78N‑R37W, Shelby County); thence west along the Audubon Shelby County line to a point approximately 1200 feet east of the SW Corner of Section 32‑T79N‑R36W, Audubon County (300 feet east of the N ¼ Corner of Section 2-T78N-R37W, Shelby County); thence curving in a northwesterly direction to a point approximately 1200 feet north of the SW Corner of Section 32‑T79N‑R36W; thence northerly following substantially the section line Section 32‑T79N‑R36W to the south corporation line of the City of Kimballton connecting with an unnamed street.

Kimballton:

Beginning on the south corporation line connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly to Maplewood Street (junction Iowa 44).

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Transportation approve the location of Iowa 173 in Audubon County, Iowa.
