DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Unsigned Iowa 941 begins at Iowa 5 approximately two miles south of the City of Moravia, and travels northeasterly and northerly into the City of Moravia.

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑941‑0 (3), between Appanoose County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Unsigned Iowa 941 from Iowa 5 in the SW corner of Section 16‑T70N‑R17W northeasterly and northerly to the south corporation line of the City of Moravia to county jurisdiction on February 3, 1981.

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑941‑0 (2), between the City of Moravia and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Unsigned Iowa 941 from the south corporation line of the City of Moravia north to the north corporation line to city jurisdiction on April 6, 1981.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended the commission approve deleting the present description of Unsigned Iowa 941 in Appanoose County from the primary road system.

Remove Unsigned Iowa 941 in Appanoose County as follows:

Beginning at the junction of Iowa 5 at a point in the SW Corner of Section 16‑T70N‑R17W; thence northeasterly and northerly through Section 16, 9‑T70N‑R17W to a point on the south corporation line of the City of Moravia connecting with unnamed street.

Moravia:

Commencing on the south corporation line connecting with unnamed street thence northerly on unnamed street to the north corporation line.

Unsigned Iowa 941 in Appanoose County, Iowa should be officially included in the State Primary System.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

Beginning at the junction of Iowa 5 at a point in the SW Corner of Section 16‑T70N‑R17W; thence northeasterly and northerly through Section 16, 9‑T70N‑R17W to a point on the south corporation line of the City of Moravia connecting with unnamed street.

Moravia:

Commencing on the south corporation line connecting with unnamed street thence northerly on unnamed street to the north corporation line.

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa Department of Transportation approve the location of Unsigned Iowa 941 in Appanoose County, Iowa.

NOTE: To become effective upon adoption of this resolution.
