DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Iowa 189 begins in the City of Bridgewater, and travels northerly approximately one mile to Iowa 92.

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑189‑0 (2) ‑‑2M‑01, between the City of Bridgewater and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 189 from First Street northerly to the north corporation line of the City of Bridgewater to city jurisdiction on July 18, 1980.

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑189‑0 (2) ‑‑2M‑01 between the City of Bridgewater and the Iowa Department of Transportation and transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑189‑0 (1) ‑‑2M‑01 between Adair County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 189 from the north corporation line of the City of Bridgewater north along the east corporation line to the north corporation line of the City of Bridgewater to local jurisdiction on July 1, 1980.

Transfer of jurisdiction agreement number TJ‑189‑0 (1) ‑‑2M‑01, between Adair County and the Iowa Department of Transportation, transferred that portion of Iowa 189 from the north corporation line of the City of Bridgewater north to a junction with Iowa 92 approximately 700 feet east of the N ¼ Corner Section 32‑T75N‑R33W to county jurisdiction on July 1, 1980.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended the commission approve deleting the attached description of Iowa 189 in Adair County from the primary road system.

Remove Iowa 189 and its extension in Adair County as follows:

Bridgewater:

Beginning on an unnamed street at First Street; thence northerly to the north corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning on the north corporation line of the City of Bridgewater connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly through Section 32‑T75N‑R33W to a point approximately 700 feet east of the N ¼ Corner said Section 32 (junction Iowa 92).

DISCUSSION/BACKGROUND:

Due to a review of our Primary Road System Records Iowa 189 in Adair County should be deleted and the new description added should be officially included into the Primary System.

PROPOSAL/ACTION RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the old description of Iowa 189 in Adair County be deleted and the new description, as referred in the attached detailed description, be included in the Primary Road System effective upon the adoption of this resolution.

Beginning on an unnamed street at 1st St.; thence northerly to the north corporation line connecting with an unnamed street.

Beginning on the north corporation line of the City of Bridgewater connecting with an unnamed street; thence northerly through Section 32-T75N-R33W to a point approximately 700 feet east of the N ¼ Corner said Section 32 (junction Iowa 92).

Beginning on the north corporation line of the Town of Bridgewater, connecting with Main Street; thence north to a point approximately 703 feet east of the N ¼ Corner of Section 32‑T75N‑R33W.

NOW, THEREFORE: Be it resolved that the Iowa State Highway Commission approve the location of Iowa 189 in Adair County, Iowa.
