Tourism and recreation

Passenger rail services benefit states in a number of ways, including bringing tourist and other recreational travelers to the state, who in turn purchase goods and services.

According to the Iowa Travel Federation, tourism is a $5.4 billion business for the state. Easy, comfortable travel will open up new opportunities to visit Iowa’s existing tourist attractions, and encourage development of new tours, destinations, hotels, restaurants, and other amenities.
