511 Logos
National LogoThe 511 trade name, slogan, logo design symbol, and any combination, including its similarity in sound, appearance or meaning, all provide the identify for the nation's travel information number and distinguish its goods/services.
The American Association of State Highway and Transportation Officials (AASHTO) maintains the legal rights to the 511 logo and is currently pursuing a federal trademark/servicemark.
The logo was designed with the notion that the telephone is a universal, easily recognized symbol. It clearly sends the message that 511 is a telephone-based service. The blue double lines and dotted lines evoke a sense of movement or thoughts about transportation.
Individuals wishing to use the 511 logo must adhere to the national guidelines established by AASHTO. The guidelines are available on-line at http://www.deploy511.org/logo.htm.
