"My Reports" overview"My Reports" is the latest traveler information tool available on the Iowa DOT’s full-feature 511 website. "My Reports" personalizes your 511 experience by letting you see traffic reports that are relevant to the highways you travel most often.
"My Reports" lets you:
- View current traffic reports that affect the routes you travel.
- Get driving directions and estimated travel time.
- Save up to 20 routes for easy future reference.
- Receive traffic alerts for saved routes via text and/or email.
Using "My Reports" is simple - just visit our full-feature 511 website, click on the "Show List Views" button above the map legend (see Figure 1), then enter the beginning and ending locations of the route you want to travel. You can even right-click on the map to choose your locations. "My Reports" will generate a customized report for your chosen route, including traffic reports that affect your route, driving directions and estimated travel time (see Figure 2).
"My Reports" even lets you save your routes for easy future reference (see Figure 2). To save routes, simply create a free "My Reports" account by clicking the "Save this route" link in a route report, or the "Start here" link at the top of the screen (see Figure 3).
A new feature to "My Reports" is that you can now set alerts for your saved routes, and receive alerts by text message and/or email when an incident is reported on your route. Just click on the gray bell icon (see Figure 4) to the left of any saved route to sign up for specific days and times you'd like to receive alerts about your route (see Figure 5).
Learn more about creating routes and "My Reports" accounts on the "My Reports" help page, which is also accessible by clicking the "Need Help?" link at the bottom of every "My Reports" page.
